Part: 1 Every time, it is the mind who wins and every time, it is the mind who loses. It is very truly said by some great scholar :
“मन के हारे हार है, मन के जीते जीत।”
(When our mind loses, we lose and our mind wins, we win)
There are three important components in our existence, and they are (1) Mind, (2) Brain and (3) Body. In fact, they are well connected to perform a job but their roles are quite different. Roughly, for the sake of plain understanding, it can be said that ‘mind’ is the ‘owner’, ‘brain’ is the ‘manager’ and ‘body’ is the ‘servant’ of the system. Body is only a vehicle where mind directs and brain manages to drive it.
‘Ability’ and ‘disability’ are directly connected with the mind in a body and mere any defect or disability appearing in the outer body, though may affect a person to a certain extent, can never defeat a person who has a sound, strong and energetic mind. Dr. Marfi Joseph, a world known psychologist, has given his wonderful and thousand times well proven theory of working of conscious, unconscious and subconscious minds of a person in his wonderful book titled as ‘Power of Your Subconscious Mind’. He says that one’s powers lie in his mind and most of the strength of the power lives in his subconscious mind and unconscious minds in comparison to his conscious mind but simultaneously, he says also that ninety nine percent of people are not aware of their such miracle power. He has given number of instances in his said wonderful book where physically disabled people created history.
It has often happened where a physically impaired persons made history. The simple principle behind their cases is that our mind gives the answers to only those questions which are placed before it and in normal circumstances, we never give any homework to our mind.
I have mentioned in my book ‘Science of Money’ authored by that when the Almighty God places you in most reversed circumstances, he wants to make you the ‘Hero’ of your life. In adverse circumstances, one finds closures on every possible way and then, he asks his mind to think about and guide for alternates and his mind gets a job and explorers the impossible ways and if he keeps faith in his mind’s suggestions seriously and beyond doubt, he becomes ‘Stephen Hawkin’ who was victim of a very illness known as Motor Neurone Disease and despite having fifty years of absolute speechless and serious bodily disabilities, he created history in cosmologist field of international science.
Ability of mind can supercede the bodily disabilities. In our country India also, there are a number of examples who have proven themselves as the ‘wonders of nature’ and I want to let you meet with few world famous Indian personalities who are/ were physically disabled but got themselves tagged in the book making the history of time in the fields of cultural and social areas.
First of all, I want to let you meet with the very famous and heart stealing dancer and actress SUDHA CHANDRAN. She is not only one of my favourite personalities but she has established herself as an example in front of the world to prove that whose mind does not accept defeat, no one can defeat him/her even her highly disabled physical body. Sudha Chandran was born on the 27th of September, 1965 in Mumbai. She was a film and television actress and an accomplished Bharatnatyam dancer who last her one of the legs in a road accident caused near Tiruchirapalli, Tamilnadu in 1981. After losing a leg, there was nothing in the life of a dancer like her and for a moment, her dream was shattered painfully leaving her in most pathetic and traumatic condition but her mind is more powerful than her body and her dream which had been placed even in her subconscious mind, explored the ways for turning into reality and she got artificial leg fixed in place of original limb and continued to chase her dream and became the very successful and proven world class Bharatnatayam dance. On her biography, a very successful Tamil movie ‘Mayury’ and a very successful and motivating Hindi movie ‘Nache Mayuri’ were made in which, she herself played her own character. She did number of Hindi as well Tamil and other southern languages movies along with number of TV serials and established herself as a wonderful actress too. She is honoured with National Film Fare Award, 1986 for her movie Mayuri, Indian Television Academic Award, 2005 for best negative role in TV serial ‘Tumhari Disha’, Asianet Television Award, 2013 for best character role in ‘Aradrama’, Vijay Television Award, 2014 for best supporting actress in ‘Deivam Thandha Veedu’, Vijay Television Award, 2015 for best mother in law in ‘Deivam Thandha Veedu’, Colors Golden Petal Award, 2016 for power packed performance in ‘Naagin’,and Colors Golden Petal Award, 2017 for best actress in ‘Naagin’.
