What Can We Learn From The Enigmatic, Jacinda Ardern, PM Of New Zealand ?

NEW DELHI: Every other day, there is a news almost from every part of the world that something ignominious has struck to humanity. Most of the time, it is brutal terrorist attacks which attract our attention. A few weeks back, two nuclear armed nations had also locked horns on the same issue and a military show off was witnessed as two belligerent wrestlers have suddenly challenged to each other in the ring. Fortunately, it did not turn into a deadly fight, though, opportunistic political leadership was hell-bent to make this small level skirmish into a bigger one. Moreover, many types of claims and counterclaims  had been made to the general naive people. Still, we are not aware what went to the enemy side, because, no any credible world media as the BBC could openly confirm it.

Anyway, the sanity finally prevailed and we could be saved from getting any deadly harm.

Of late, a few weeks back, a Western nation, New Zealand was also jolted with one of it’s most brutal kind of terrorist attacks by a white extremist, which had snatched many beautiful lives. The sad part of this incident was that no any victim had anything to do with any type of politics. They were Muslim immigrants, who had made this peaceful country their abode just to earn a better living.

What attracted the world media’s attention the most was the quick and humanistic response of the enigmatic Prime Minister, Mrs. Jacinda Ardern. She took this brutal accident as it demanded response by a country head. She personally visited to the victims and expressed her fullest sympathy. She did not look at it for a single moment with a prejudiced mind and with the narrow prism of Muslim and Christianity issue. She really taught the world a lesson that how humanity is sacred above all other narrow considerations of the religious, political and cultural identities.

It reminded me the present day leaders like Donald Trump, Rajiv Gandhi and Narendra Modi. How they miserably failed on many occasions when such situations arose. Actually, they should learn from her that how a multi religious and ethnic nations should be run. They can’t differentiate their own people on religious, ethnic and cultural grounds. If it did not happen, the societies will crumble under the weight of its own incongruities.

India has nothing to celebrate at present, though, it’s spineless leaders might offer tall claims about it’s stupendous progress and prosperity. It is a bitter fact that we are far below on the index of the most happy nations. Our latest number is 137. We are even far behind than our neighbor, Pakistan, which we lambast every time as a poor and fragmented nation. If such is the condition, then, how on earth, it could excel much better than us on the happiness index?

India has suffered and lost its glory in the recent past much more rapidly and starkly. And the reasons behind it are many and much more evident.

The fact is that we can’t become a great nation until we learn to live like a true human being. Our narrow politicians should be shown doors and should be forced to abandon the divisive politics altogether.

I solemnly urge to our fellow citizens that never get trapped with the false promises of the political leaders and choose only them who are not liars and sellers of false dreams. Only honest and sincere leadership should be promoted and given a chance to lead us.
