NEW DELHI : SJVN has entered into a MoU with BHEL (Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited) for development of Solar Power projects in India. The MoU aims at building a closer strategic partnership between the parties for jointly pursuing commercial solar power projects through participation in tariff/viability gap funding based competitive bidding process etc. As per the MoU, BHEL will be an Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Project Management Contractor besides providing operation and maintenance services after commissioning of the projects. The MoU was signed by Sanjay Uppal, Chief General Manager (BD&MS), SJVN Limited and T.K. Bagchi, General Manager (REWB), BHEL at New Delhi in the presence of S.Balakrishnan, Director (IS&P), BHEL. SJVN Limited has already commissioned five projects totaling 2015.2 MW of installed capacity including solar projects well. The Company is presently implementing power projects in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Maharashtra and Gujarat in India besides neighboring countries viz. Nepal and Bhutan.
