SHIMLA: On account of its financial performance for FY 2018-19, SJVN had declared a total dividend of Rs.844.91 crores for its shareholders.The Company had already paid an interim dividend of Rs. 368.07 crores in March 2019 to Govt. of India which is presently holding 61% equity in the Company.
The final dividend cheque of Rs. 156.22 crores was today handed over to the Union Minister of State (I/C) Power and New & Renewable Energy, R.K. Singh by Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman & Managing Director, SJVN Limited at New Delhi.
The cheque was presented in the presence of, Subhash Chandra Garg , Secretary (Power) and senior officials of the Ministry of Power. On this occasion A.S. Bindra, Director (Finance), S.P. Bansal, Director (Civil) and senior officers of SJVN were also present.
Handing over of the cheque Nand Lal Sharma apprised the Union Minister of the progress in construction activities of Arun-3 Hydro Electric Project and Naitwar Mori Hydro Electric Project.
He informed that SJVN is actively pursuing to bring its other projects in Construction Stage.He stated that, Hydro Power is the core strength of SJVN and besides executing projects in Himachal Pradesh; SJVN is executing Power Projects in Nepal, Bhutan, Bihar and Uttarakhand.
Also, SJVN has forayed into the field of Renewable Energy, Power Transmission and Thermal Power. The Company is presently generating around 2015.2 MW of electricity from its operational projects i.e. 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station, 412 MW Rampur Hydro Power Station, 47.6 MW Khirvire Wind Power Project, 50 MW Sadla Wind Power Project and 5.6 MW Charanka Solar Power Station.
SJVN is in the process of harnessing power projects which are in different stages of development. These projects include Twelve Hydro Projects and One Thermal Project, which on completion will add 5134 MW of capacity.
As a part of plan for achieving 5000 MW installed capacity by 2023, 12000 MW by 2030 and 25000 MW by 2040, SJVN has formulated aggressive strategies which include both Organic as well as Inorganic modes for growth.
