SHIMLA: SJVN has been conferred with Aqua Foundation Excellence Award 2018 in the category of ‘Sustainable Development in Hydro Power Sector (Public Sector)’ during XII World Aqua Congress International Conference 2018.
The award was given by U.P. Singh Secretary, Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, Government of India at a function held at India Habitat Centre, New DelhI last evening.
On this occasion Nand Lal Sharma, chairman & Managing Director, said that Hydro Power is the core strength of SJVN and the Company has the distinction of implementing India’s largest 1500 MW NathpaJhakri Hydro Power Station in Himachal Pradesh.
Besides executing projects in Himachal Pradesh, SJVN is executing hydro projects in Nepal, Bhutan and Uttarakhand.
SJVN has also forayed into the field of Renewable Energy, Power Transmission and Thermal Power and is presently generating 2003.2 MW of electricity.
