NEW DELHI: Since a very long time, we have been hearing about article 370 and 35A. For a long time, I was also associated as a freelance script writer with DD Kashmir and wrote many serials. We always talked about one nation and one law.
Kashmir is, no doubt, an integral part of India. But sadly, we never felt like that socially, culturally and emotionally.
Muslims, especially from the rest part of India never felt close to the Muslims of Kashmir. Reasons were many. The first and important one is due to its political and legal nature.
Kashmiri Muslims, unfortunately, never lend their helping hands to other fellow Indian Muslims in their time of distress and trouble. They took always differently themselves from others and the rest of the population of this country.
Why was it so?
Should not the whole country be treated with the same yardstick and in the same way?
I hope that by scrapping these contentious articles as 370 & 35A, the process of integration and assimilation of Kashmiris will be fast and positive.
We can’t allow our enemy, Pakistan to cut our flesh and leave us to bleed permanently. It is a failed state and was formed on the false lines. We are still paying the heavy price of this division.
Indian Muslims suffered most due to these partitions of the country in the form of Pakistan and, later on, Bangladesh.
Let’s make this country unite again.
