DEHRADUN: PM Modi inaugurated the Uttarakhand Investors Summit 2018 on Sunday morning- an event from which the state eyes an investment of around Rs 20,000 crore in sectors including food processing, horticulture and floriculture, tourism and hospitality among others.
All the leading business firms and industrial houses participated in the two-day event to explore investment opportunities in the hill state in 12 major sectors, including tourism and hospitality.
The prime minister arrived at the Jolly Grant Airport and immediately left for the ‘Destination Uttarakhand: Investors Summit 2018’ venue at the International Cricket Stadium.
The two-day event will conclude on Monday and Home Minister Rajnath Singh will address it on the second day.Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari, Piyush Goyal, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Harsimrat Kaur Badal, KJ Alphons and CR Chaudhary will also participate in the sessions on different subjects.
PM Modi said Ayushmaan Bharat will help in building hospitals in tier II and tier III cities. The prime minister added that it will also help in improving the infrastructure of medical schools.
PM Modi says Housing for All, Power for All, Clean Fuel for All, Health for All, Banking for All and other schemes by the government are helping it reach the target.
PM Modi said Tourism in Uttarakhand has now got an industry status. He said 13 Districts in the state have been developed as New Destination. The PM also said Uttarakhand has all the potential to become Organic State.
Modi said India is on top as far as food processing is concerned. He appealed to all for increasing Investment in Agriculture.Prime Minister said India is moving ahead in direction of becoming world leader in renewable energy.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said that his government is providing incentives to investors and have a single window clearance, which clears proposals within 15 days.
Rawat told media persons that during the run up to the event, investment proposals worth over 70 thousand crore rupees have already been received.
