Mumbai : Jhanak Nritya Academy had proudly presented the Nritya Varsha, 2018 at ASPEE Auditorium, Malad. The Nritya Varsha represented the epic mythology Ramayana in the Bharatnatyam and Kathak dance form named as “Nritya Ramayana”. The founder of Jhanak Nritya Academy, eminent dancer of Bharatnatyam and Kathak, Guru Smt.Bhupali Tamboli along with her disciples performed the Nritya Ramayana. “Nritya Ramayana” was written by Gouri Ghalsasi and Umesh Ghalsasi . The Indian film and television actor Visu bhau Bapat, Uma Tai bapat, Vicky ahuja, Ruksana poonawala, Lalit parimoo had attended the event with much fanfare.
Guru Smt. Bhupali Tamboli, Indian classical dancer born in March, 1981. She has 18 years of teaching experience in the field of dance and had the privilege to learn Bharatnatyam from Guru. Smt.Tambe, Guru Smt. Manik Ambike, Guru Smt. Dr. Sucheta Chapekar and Guru Smt. Prasanna Athale. An exponent in Thanjavur and Kalakshetra Styles. Curiosity about classical dance has led her to learn Kathak of Lucknow and Jaipur Gharana from Guru Shri. Vasantrao Ghatge. Her commitment to learning and perfecting dancing made her complete her MA in Bharatnatyam. She has also done 5 years training in Hindustani vocal and 3 years training in Carnatic music. Bhupali Tamboli has set her own style, and has inspired many students, artists and audience at large. Her dancing, characterized by its energy and rhythmic movements based on the musical notes, continues for hours. Over the years, she has been conferred a number of prestigious awards, including “Press Media Award”, “ Swami Vivekananda Gaurav Puraskar ” ,“ Yashaswini Sanman Chinha ” , “Mumbai Gaurav Award” and “Maharashtra Ratna Award”. She envisioned formalizing her teaching, and set up her training academy called “Jhanak Nritya Academy” in the year 1996. Many students have successfully completed their B.A in BharatNatyam through the institute. She has performed at many concerts and festivals in India and abroad. She is a recognized guru under Akhil Bhartiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya since1997.
On the presentation of Nritya Ramayana Bhupali Tamboli quoted “Its always a pleasure to perform ,when passion is your career. She always wanted to do extensive research on Indian and International classical dance forms in order to write and choreograph based on these learnings.Her soul is bounded with the lord Natraja. For last 18 years of experience in the field of dance she still believes to learn something new everyday. She believes one should never stop learning.
