The great poet Nida Fazli has rightly said :
“Har aadmi me’n hote hai’n das bees aadmi,
Jisko bhi dekhna ho, kai baar dekhna.”
Though the approach of this couplet is negative and it suggests that everybody has several faces just to cheat you but I know a person through whom we can go through several personalities and it is not less than a miracle for me. In this world, where it is next to impossible to know even a single person through his shown personality, if a man can transcribe number of great personalities through his single existence, he must be magical.
Suhail Kakorvi is that magical poet who has created histories several times in the field of poetry. He is a popular Urdu Shayar (poet) having same grip and control in Hindi, English and Persian languages. In the past he made a record by penning ‘Aamnama’, the only book which is entirely versed on a single fruit AAM (mango) and placed his name in Limca book of records and thereafter, in a very short distance, he wrote Neela Chand (Blue Moon), a book containing about six hundred shairs (couplets) having two three idioms and proverbs in Urdu, Hindi and English under single cover, thereafter he gifted us ‘Arziyat-e-Ghalib/ Ghalib : Ek Utter Katha/ Remnants’, containing his 100 Ghazals on same meters, same Radif (ending words) and same Kafiya (sounding words) of Mirza Ghalib being the most wonderful work ever done on Ghalib and lastly he brought his book ‘Gulnama’ having more than seven hundred shairs (couplets) each on flowers in same meter, Radif and Kafia being the longest Ghazal of Urdu Shayri in scribed in Urdu, Hindi and English under the same cover.
‘Tashkeel-e-nau/ Navlokan/Revisiting’ is the latest wonder of Suhail Kakorvi through which, he has extended the works of remarkable Shayer (poets) of genius Urdu Shayri (poetry). The genius litterateurs Urdu who are now no more, appear before us all of a sudden through Suhail Kakorvi. Suhail Kakorvi never repeats them but gives them unique extensions in their own meters, style and colours.
This wonderful book Navlokan begins with all time known Urdu poet Allam Iqbal. Allam Iqbal says :
“Khudi ko kar buland itna, ki har taqdeer se pahle,
Khuda bande se khud puchhe, bata teri raza kya hai’
Suahil Kakorvi gives it some extension :
“Vo jab hai ghaib ka aalim, use maloom hai sab kuchh,
Khuda bande se kyo’n puchhe, bata teri raza kya hai.”
When Allam Iqbal says :
“Hazao’n sal nargis, apni benuri pe roti hai,
Badi mushkil se hota hai, chaman me’n deedawar paida.”
Suhail says :
“Chaman me’n ab kabhi, nargis n benuri pe royegi,
Ki jabse ho gaya noor-e-mukammal deedavar paida.”
The known Urdu poet Miyandad Khan Sayyah says :
“Kais Jangal me’n akela hai, mujhe jane do,
Khoob guzregi jo mil baithenge deewane do.”
Suhail Kakorvi says :
“Aql aur dil huye yakja, ye tamasha tha ajab,
Ek maksad tha, nazar aaye the deewane do.
Ek par uska tha, dusare par ghair ka tha,
Ye to achha huaa, tha pas mere shane do.”
The great Urdu poet Meer Taqi ‘Meer’ recites :
‘Meer’ amdan koi nahi’n marta,
Jaan hai to jahaan hai pyare.”
And see the flavour of Suhail here :
“Ishq me’n kaun ye samjhta hai,
Jaan hai to jahan hai pyare.”
Now, see the famous shir of great poet Majrooh Sultanpuri here :
” Jab hua irfa to gham, aaram-e-jaan banta gaya,
Soj-e-jaana’n dil me’n soj-e-deegara’n banta gaya.”
And Suhail states :
” Mujhpe ibrat ho gayee, sb ishq se darane lage,
Mera dard-o-gham, shaur-e-dasta’n banta gaya.
While Majrooh Sultanpuri writes :
“Dil ke fafole jal uthe, seene ke dagh se,
Is ghar ko aag lag gayee, ghar ke chiragh se.”
Suhail Kakorvi shares :
“Ruswai teri meri hui, dil ke dagh se,
Dono ne kaam kam hi liya tha dimaagh se.
Jazbo’n ki aag dik se uthi, jal gaya tha sabr,
Is ghar ko aag lag gayee, ghar ke chiragh se.”
The next known shayar contained in the book Jaleel Manikpuru recites :
” Rat ko khoob si pi, subh ko tauba kar li,
Rind ke rind rahe, hath se jannat na gayee.”
Suhail extends it as under :
“Vo mili peene ko kausar se hame’n paak sharab,
Rind ke rind rahe, hath se jannat na gayee.”
In this beautiful book, Shuail has placed the following all time popular shair of great shayar Razmi :
“Ye jabr bhi dekha hai, tarikh ki nazro’n ne,
Lmho’n ne khata ki thi, sadiyo’n ne saza paai.”
And Suhail resounds it as under :
“Aaya jo samajh me’n ye, ham hosh hi kho baithe,
Vo jurm hamara tha, kyo’n usne saza paai.
Deti hai sabaq hamko, is kaul ki danaai,
Lamho’n ne khata ki thi, sadiyo’n ne saza paai.”
Dagh Dehalvi’s popular shair runs as under :
“Rukh-e-roshan ke aage shama rakh ke, vo ye kahte hai’n,
Udhar jata hai dekhe’n ya idhar, parvana aata hai.”
Suhail says :
“Lagati hai gale se shama usko, mai’n samajhta hu’n,
Fana’n hokar baqa’n ke rang me’n, parvana aata hai.”
The world famous shair of Saqib Lakhnavi also finds place in this book :
“Zamana bade shauq se sun raha tha,
Hami’n so gaye dasta’n kahte kahte.”
Suhail says :
“Vo sunne ko aaye, muqaddar bura tha,
Hami’n so gaye dasta’n kahte kahte.”
Another popular shair of Saqib Lakhnavi runs as under :
“Bagba’n ne aag di, jab aashiyae ke liye,
Jinpe takiya tha, vahi patte hava dene lage.”
And Suhail recites as under :
“Isase unki asli fitrat, aa gayee hai samne,
Jinpe takiya tha, vahi patte hava dene lge.”
Amir Minai, another great Urdu poet of his time, says :
“Khanjar chale kisi pe, tadapte hain ham Amir,
Sare jaha’n ka dard, hamare jigar me’n hai.”
And Suhail says :
“Dekhe’n hai’n isme’n ujdi hui, rat ke nuqoosh,
Ik surkiye ajeeb, namude sahar mei’n hai.
Shayad ilaj-e-dard-e-jaha’n, isase dhoondh le,
Sare jaha’n ka dard hamare jigar mei’n hai.”
The great Urdu poet Faiz Ahmad ‘Faiz’ recites :
“Aur bhi gham hai’n zamane me’n, mohabbat ke siva,
Rahate’n aur bhi hai’n, vasl ki rahat ke siva.”
Suhail Kakorvi says :
“Aur kuchh hote hai’n vo, ye nahi’n hote ki jo hai’n,
Hamne dekha hai unhe’n, vasl ki rahat ke siva.”
Shekh Ibrahim Zauq’s famous shair runs as under :
“Ab to ghabra ke ye kahte hai’n ki mar jayenge,
Mar ke bhi chain na paya to kidhar jayenge.”
And Suhail says :
“Uske aane ke to imka’n, nazar aate hi nahi’n,
Isi ummeed me’n sab, sham-o-sahar jayenge.”
Jigar Moradabadi, a great Urdu shair says :.
“Unka jo kam hai, vo ahale siyasat jane,
Mera paigham mohabbat hai, jaha’n tak pahunche.”
Suhail Kakorvi resounds :
“Isko dohrane ki is daur me’n hajat hai bahut,
Mera paigham mohabbat hai, jaha’n tak pahunche.”
The great Urdu poet Qmar Badayuni recites :
“Eid ka din hai gale, aaj to mil le zalim,
Rasm-e-duniya bhi hai, mauka bhi hai, dastoor bhi hai.”
And Suhail says :
“Paas rahte huye vo shakhs bhut door bhi hai,
Pur musarrat bhi hai aur dil mera ranjoor bhi hai.”
The all time great Urdu poet Ghalib says :
“Dil-e-nada’n tujhe hua kya hai,
Aakhir is dard ki dava kya hai.”
And Suhail says:
“Usne khat me’n bhala likha kya hai,
Namabar ye mita mita kya hai.”
These are some glimpses of magical poetic skill of Suhail Kakorvi only. He is a wonderful poet, a humble creature and great human being. His vision is as great as the sky. I find everytime difficult for me to define him through unanimous definition because every time, the words appear to be smaller in front of his great approach.
No doubt, Suhail Kakorvi is the personality which will be honoured vastly by the time to come. I find myself honoured as I an eye witness of this wonderful gift of God to humanity.
