NEW DELHI: Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is all set to become the second Chief Minister of residual Andhra Pradesh after steering his YSRCP in the direction of a landslide victory.
YSRCP is leading in 145 of the 175 seats in Andhra Pradesh Assembly leaving just about 25 for TDP and five to other parties including Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena party.Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu may submit his resignation in the evening.
As the news of Y.S. Jagan’s grand vicotry spread, a large number of his supporters started gathering at YSRCP office at Tadepalli in the capital region of Amaravati to celebrate the massive victory.
Chandrasekhar Rao also called up YSRCP leader Y S Jaganmohan Reddy on his party’s splendid performance in Andhra Pradesh. He said under Jagan’s leadership, he hoped Andhra Pradesh would be on the path of development.
YSRCP Sr.leader Ummareddy Venkateswarlu has said, “Jaganmohan Reddy to take oath as Andhra CM on May 30.”After completing his Master in Business Administration (MBA), Jagan dabbled in real estate in Bengaluru and occasionally did backroom work for his father .
YSR’s father Y S Rajasekhar Reddy’s untimely death in a tragic helicopter crash on September 2, 2009. He was then just four-months into electoral politics.
YSR entered active politics with May 2009 elections when he contested from the Kadapa Lok Sabha seat.In fact, not many people had known about Jagan till his father became the Congress chief minister in 2004.
