India Beat South Africa By Six Wickets

Virat Kohli blasted his 33rd century and Ajinkya Rahane’s 79 helped India beat South Africa by six wickets in Durban to take a 1-0 lead in the series. 

India won the first ODI against South Africa by six wickets by chasing down a target of 270 runs with Virat Kohli scoring his 33rd ODI century.After losing two wickets early, Kohli and Rahane got together and gave no chance to South Africa bowlers of taking a wicket.

The strong Indian batting line-up chased down 270 runs with 27 balls remaining. South Africa were also seen struggling in their innings but managed to recover and post 269 for 8 batting first.

Kohli and Rahane also stitched together a 189-run partnership, a record at Durban for the highest third wicket partnership.

For South Africa, Andile Phehlukwayo finished with the figures of 2/42. Additionally, India also recorded their first victory against South Africa at Durban since 1992-93.

Earlier, Faf du Plessis played a brilliant innings of 120 runs powered South Africa to 269/8 in 50 overs.

Kuldeep Yadav (3/34) and Chahal (2/45) were the star bowlers for the visiting team as they both took 5 wickets between them.

South Africa has never lost at this ground while India will look to break this record.
