Imran Khan To Take Oath As Pakistan Prime Minister On August 11

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has said that he will take oath as Prime Minister on August 11, the media reported on Monday.

Cricket player turned politician Imran Khan is about to become the next prime minister of Pakistan.He will likely be sworn in before August 14, Pakistan’s 71st birthday.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), or Pakistan Movement for Justice, emerged as the largest single party in the election, defeating the PML-N party of jailed former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Monday said the nation has placed its trust in Imran Khan by voting the party to power, and asked the public to support it in achieving its vision for the country.

Imran Khan, Pakistan’s newly elected prime minister, is set to approve the country’s largest ever bailout from the International Monetary Fund.

Khan’s party has opened a second front in Punjab, which is home to the cities of Lahore and Rawalpindi and more than half of Pakistan’s 200 million people.

In Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province, the PTI has won a two-thirds majority by bagging 65 seats in the assembly of 99 members.Imran said alleviation of poverty from interior Sindh will be among top priorities of his government.

According to the results, the PTI has bagged 116 general seats 22 short of simple majority  whereas the PML-N and PPP have won 64 and 43 seats, respectively.Pakistan’s National Assembly comprises a total of 342 members, of which 272 are directly elected.
