IMAUPCON-2018: 83rd Conference Of IMA UP Organized At City Of Tahjeeb, Lucknow

LUCKNOW: 83rd Conference of Uttar Pradesh state branch of Indian Medical Association was held on Saturday, 24th November 2018 at Hotel Fortune Park BBD, Rana Pratap Marg, Lucknow. The first day of this conference included a whole day sciences programme for the doctors of the state.The chief guest on this occasion was Brijesh Pathak,Law Minister Government of UP.

Topics of management of Head injury was taken by Dr. Ashok Nirala. He said that road traffic accidents is the most common cause of head injury, which is preventable, if traffic can be managed properly. Dr. Sandeep Kapoor of Health City Hospital, Gomti Nagar explained how to cope up with osteo arthritis.

Dr Abhishek Shukla, Interventional cardiologist at Ajanta Hospital delivered the talk on acute coronary syndrome management, while Dr. Rakesh Singh Past President of IMA Lucknow spoke on management of Heart failure.

Psychiatrist, Dr Aleem Siddique spoke on rational use of antidepressants. Another special session on oncology was held in which Dr Anand Srivastava, Associate Professor of Respiratory Medicine at KGMU spoke on Cancer Misdiagnosis. Dr Shailendra Yadav, Professor in Department Surgery spoke on thoracic diseases.

Dr Sarita Singh, Professor in the Dept. of Anesthesia, KGMU spoke on recent advances in management of pain. Dr. Manoj Srivastava Mch surgical oncology from KGMU spoke on Current trend of Cancer in North India.

Dr. B.P. Singh, Senior constant pulmonologist, Midland Healthcare spoke on managmanet of chronic obstructive Pulmonary disease. Dr Deepak Agarwal, Senior gastroenterologist had a talk on management of chronic diarrhoea.

Dr. Gita Khanna, Director, Ajanta Hospital expressed her views on challenges in management of infertile couple.

Dr Surya Kant, Organizing chairman of this conference also chairman of UP state task force for TB control gave a lecture on End TB by 2025. Dr Surya Kant Delivered lectures on End TB 2025 and described TB disease a major health problem of country.

Major challenge for India and UP is to diagnose cases of TB that are missing that is why UP and Central Government has started a program on active case finding in which susceptible population living in areas by door to door screening by mobile X-ray  van and free sputum examination for tubercular bacilli in all symptomatic patients who are having cough for more then two week government has also started nutritional supplement program for TB patients.
