Lucknow is the city which illumines like a jewel on the forehead of Uttar Pradesh, not only as its power capital, but, as a unique abode of art, literature and culture.

NEW DELHI: Rivers always have played a pivotal role in establishing any human civilization in the world. In India, it is not only as a rich source of living, but worshipped as gods and goddesses. Yamuna, Gomti and Ganga are one of the very sacred rivers which flow in the state, Uttar Pradesh.

Many beautiful cities and towns flourished on the banks of these holy rivers over the time like Agra, Lucknow, Mathura, Allahabad and Varanasi.

It is known as the city of Nawabs. This is located in the midst of the Heritage Arc on the bank of Gomti. It is an assortment of different cultures, mannerism, music, art, literature, dance, theatre, cuisine and marvelous architecture.

The places like Bara Imambara, Chota Imambara, British Residency, Zoo,River front,Hazratganj, Constantia House, Dr. Ambedkar Park, Museum, Rumi Darwaza and Chattar Manzil can make any visitor’s journey a thing to cherish for a long time to come.

The literary and artistic people who adored this beautiful city are many, to name a few, like classical writers and poets, Abdul Haleem Sharar, Ratan Nath Sharshar, Mirza Dabeer, Majaz, Yashpal, Amrit Lal Nagar, music director, Naushad etc.

Lucknow is also famous for its collection of classical music.The various ragas, compositions and beats were highly inspired by the poetry written by the famous poets and literary figures of this city.

The famous Lucknow Gharana was created in the royal courts of the Nawabs of Lucknow. This Gharana inspired major dance forms like Kathak, which is a very popular all over the world.

The very famed Awadi cuisine also has immense power to draw the hearts of the people equally, which includes delectable recipes created by the Nawabs of Awadh.
