LUCKNOW: A constable of Uttar Pradesh Police shot dead the Apple Area Manager named Vivek Tiwari. The matter is from the VIP area of the Uttar Pradesh capital, Lucknow.
Vivek Tiwari was returning from the launching event of the iPhone. He was also with his co-worker Sana Khan. On the way, when the police indicated to stop them, Vivek sidelined. Constable Prashant Chaudhary shot Vivek, and it became the reason of Vivek’s death.
Tiwari’s wife Kalpana has responded to the incident, saying that the police had “no right” to shoot her husband.The wife of the deceased Vivek has made a plea to meet the CM Yogi accusing him of murder.
The incident happened at around 1.30 a.m., when Tiwari was heading home after the launch of iPhone X plus along with Sana Khan, his colleague.
Talking to media over the matter, Kalpana Tewari, wife of deceased Vivek Tewari, said that she waited for her husband till 2, after that she started calling him on both his mobile phones. She said that the phone kept ringing but no one answered.
Later, the phone was picked up by a man who informed her that Vivek and Sana both have sustained injuries and are undergoing a treatment at RML Hospital.
An injured Tiwari was taken to the Lohia Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The post-mortem report has concluded the cause of death as being shot.
Director of Lohia Hospital, Devendra Singh Negi said that Vivek Tewari had a bullet injury near the ear on the left side, he died during treatment.
A case has been filed against the two policemen under Section 302 (punishment for murder) of the Indian Penal Code. Tewari is survived by his wife and two daughters. Vivek Tiwari was a resident of Sultanpur.
Meanwhile, Sana, who is said to be present with Vivek Tewari when the incident took place said that she was under no pressure to hide the truth and wants the accused to be punished.
Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi broke his silence and said that it was not an encounter and an investigation would be conducted. Adityanath also said that if needed, a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry would be ordered to investigate the incident.
Meanwhile, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath spoke to DGP OP Singh and asked to take corrective action. Anand Kumar, the ADG law system, immediately came forward to the media and apologized for the incident.
The two constables allegedly involved in the incident have been arrested and a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted to probe the matter impartially, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kalanidhi Naithani said.
