Vice President Arrives At Itanagar On Two Day Visit

ITANAGAR,  Jun 15: Vice President of India M. Venkaiah Naidu, on his maiden two-day tour to Arunachal Pradesh arrived at Itanagar on 15th June 2018.

Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu’s two-day Sikkim visit was cancelled on Friday due to inclement weather, officials said.

Governor Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) received the Vice President at Raj Bhavan. Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, Cabinet ministers and State senior officers were present on the occasion.

A ceremonial Guard of Honour was presented to the Vice President by Arunachal Pradesh Police at the Raj Bhavan, Itanagar.

Later, the Vice President had a brief interaction with the Governor, Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and Chief Secretary Satya Gopal.

On 16th June 2018, the Vice President of India has, on the request of the Governor, consented before leavOMG to plant a sapling of Red Sandalwood (Rakta Chandana) at the front lawn of Raj Bhavan.

The Vice President will be laying the foundation stone for seepage management system and storm water drainage system of Itanagar at Itanagar and address the research scholars and faculty members of North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST) at Nirjuli, near Itanagar on 16th June 2018.
