Congress President Rahul Gandhi Promises Loan Waiver To MP Farmers

The Mandsaur agitation last year was the epicentre of farmers’ protests across Madhya Pradesh. 

Congress president Rahul Gandhi addressed a farmers’ rally in Piplya Mandi town of Madhya Pradesh’s Mandsaur district. Earlier, Rahul paid tributes to the dead farmers in Piplia Mandi town of Mandsaur district.

Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday said if his party is voted to power in Madhya Pradesh, it would waive farmers’ loans in 10 days.The Congress is out of power in the state since 2004.

Months before Assembly elections, Madhya Pradesh will on Wednesday mark the first anniversary of the Mandsaur firing in which six farmers were killed during protests.

The families of the farmers (killed in Mandsaur last year) will get justice in 10 days and we will take action against those responsible for the firing,” the Congress President said.

Rahul Gandhi asserted that his party sought to transform the lives of the people in MP by improving agriculture, setting up food processing units in every district and creating jobs for the youth.

Pointing out that right now everything was ‘Made in China’ and India was losing jobs, Rahul said: “I have a dream that five years from now, when I come here, the phone I use is Made in Mandsaur.”
