SJVN is implementing 10 other projects in Nepal, Bhutan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Bihar, and Gujarat.
SHIMLA: Public Sector SJVN Ltd has been declared Winner in the category of ‘Best Hydro Power Generator’ by Independent Power Producers Association of India (IPPAI).
The award has been conferred upon SJVN for its outstanding performance in the area of Operation & Maintenance of Hydro Power Stations. This award was received by R.N. Misra Chairman & Managing Director SJVN at a function held at Belgaum, Karnataka.
Independent Power Producers Association of India (IPPAI) had organised Power Awards during the 18th Regulators and Policy makers Retreat. IPPAI was set up as a not-for-profit association shortly after the Government of India opened the power sector to private industry. Since its inception as an independent body in 1994, IPPAI’s aim has been to provide a neutral platform for the examination of issues critical to the development of the power sector in India.
Hydro Power is the core strength of SJVN and the Company has the distinction of implementing India’s largest 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station in Himachal Pradesh. The Company has another hydro power station namely 412 MW Rampur HPS in Himachal Pradesh.
In addition to these power stations SJVN has 47.6 MW Khirvire Wind Power Project in Maharashtraand 5 MW Charanka Solar Power Project in Gujarat are already in operation.
SJVN is implementing 10 other projects in Nepal, Bhutan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttrakhand, Bihar, and Gujarat. SJVN which has already diversified in the field of Wind Power, Thermal Power and Power Transmission is presently generating 2000 MW of electricity.
