SHIMLA: On account of its financial performance for the year 2018-19, SJVN today handed over a cheque of Rs. 68.58 crores, as final dividend to the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Jai Ram Thakur. The cheque was handed over by Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman & Managing Director. SJVN had already paid an interim dividend of Rs 158.25 Crores to the state holding 26.85% equity in the Company, in March 2019.
The cheque was presented in the presence of Shrikant Baldi, Chief Secretary and Prabodh Saxena, Principal Secretary (MPP & Power), GoHP. On this occasion, A. S. Bindra, Director (Finance), Smt. Geeta Kapur, Director (Personnel), S.P Bansal, Director (Civil), A.K Singh, Chief General Manager (Finance) and other senior officers of SJVN were also present.
Handing over the cheque Nand Lal Sharma apprised the Chief Minister that SJVN had so far paid a total dividend of Rs 1711.88 Crore to the Govt of Himachal Pradesh on an investment of Rs 1055.01 Crore. Currently Government of India is holding 61.05% shares of company while 26.85% shares are with Government of Himachal Pradesh & 12.10% with public.
