Ramesh Sippy to be awarded Lifetime Achievement Award at IFFJ 2018
Veteran filmmaker Ramesh Sippy will be felicitated with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution towards Indian Cinema at 1st International Film Festival of Jharkhand to be held next year. Ramesh Sippy has directed the biggest blockbuster Sholay in Bollywood film history and won major acclaim. Some rare piece of cinema like Shaan, Seeta aur Geeta to name a few movies directed by him. Not only films, he was also successful on television. Television drama series named Buniyaad was also one of his directional masterpiece.
For the first time, various categories like Feature Films, Documentaries, Short Fictions and Animation from all the world are open for participation. Entries will be accepted through Film freeway, Vimeo, and Withoutabox or through courier. This 1st ever IFFJ is a humble attempt to bring the films to the commoners.
Jharkhand has given very prominent film makers like Shivam Nair who will be on advisory panel.
This very 1st IFFJ will be organized by an independent organizing committee whose members are Dhiraj Mishra, Ashwani Shukla. From publicity to marketing,promoting,bringing movies, workshops inviting national and international film makers, these peoples are doing their work very rigorously to make this first ever International Film Festival of Jharkhand a successful one.This 3 days festival will be held in the black diamond city of India, Dhanbad. The organizing committee are excited to see a large number of movies being submitted from all over the world. Bollywood Icons and celebrities are extending their support to make this an important film festival event.
